PGN Expansion Program
The expansion project, besides allowing for an increase of 27 MGS over twenty years, to be sold to Sasol Gas will also make an additional 27 MGS available for sale on the local market. These quantities will be added to the 120 MGS p.a. contracted at present by Sasol Gas, over a period of thirty years, being supplied to South Africa.
Studies are being made in order to include new investment projects connected to the CPF at Temane, as part of the expansion program such as the production of LPE (domestic gas) from the condensate and natural gas now being exported, as well as from the gas now being wasted.
The expansion of production of gas at Temane and Pande, will make a greater volume of gas available to the local market. It will also permit the raising of taxes on production now levied by the Mozambique Government (5 percent on the volume of sales). This value may be paid in money or in kind, thus making it possible for a greater number of local industries to benefit from the Pande and Temane gas.
