Activities of the Consortium
The activities of the consortium are regulated by several contracts, namely:
- The concession contract and the contract for oil production, celebrated by the Government of Mozambique, National Enterprise of Hydrocarbons (NEH), Mozambican Company of Hydrocarbons (MCH), The International Finance Corporation (IFC) and Sasol Petroleum Temane (SPT) on 26 October 2000, with a duration of thirty years, whose object is the development, production and utilization of the petroleum reserves in the petroleum producing zone.
- The joint operations agreement, entered into by SPT, CMH and IFC, dated 27 December 2002, which has as its object the laying down of the contracting parties rights and obligations in the context of the CPP and to establish certain responsibilities related to the fulfillment by the parties of their obligations in terms of the CVG. It also designates SPT as the project operator.
- First contract for the sale of gas from the petroleum production zone, entered into by SPT, CMH and IFC as sellers and by Sasol gas as buyer, on 27 December 2000, for a period of twenty five years.
- Second contract for the sale of gas, entered into by SPT, CMH and IFC as sellers, and by Sasol gas as buyer, on 10 December 2008, for a period of twenty years, whose object is the sale of quantities of gas additional to those quantities sold under the first sale contract.
- Contract for the sale of condensate produced in the petroleum production zone, entered into by SPT, CMH, and IFC as sellers and Petromoc International as buyer on 21 November 2006, for a period of 7 years.
